What are Clash Detection Services?

Clash Detection is a critical step in the BIM coordination process. When two elements occupy the same space (hard collision), or when any element is not provided the precise spatial or geometric tolerances it requires, or when its buffer zone is broken, a clash can occur (soft clash). Inconsistent or contradictory building information might potentially cause a collision (workflow clash). The process of detecting such conflicts is known as clash detection.

Even with older building projects, there have always been clashes. However, in 2D drawings, their identification was prone to mistake, resulting in numerous delays and financial losses. It is feasible to discover conflicts early on and address them before the design goes into construction using contemporary clash detection systems such as Revit and Navisworks.
